Tot Chef’s Curriculum Coordinator

Interested in early childhood education or nutrition? Then this opportunity is perfect for you! Our Tot Chef’s Academy program provides cooking classes for pre-K through fifth grade children in Georgia schools. Participating children explore all aspects of food preparation, from picking fresh fruits and vegetables from their school garden or our Pea Pod mobile garden, to learning how to prepare them in class and then sharing the recipe and tools they have learned with their families. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to:

  • Coordinate and create curriculum utilizing an existing template and a detailed list of the elements the curriculum should contain (i.e. USDA guidelines for early childhood nutrition, menus and recipes).
  • Integrate age-appropriate reading, math and science education into the curriculum—this is just as important to our students as the nutrition and cooking education!

Tot Chef’s Academy Volunteer

Have a passion for working with children, but don’t have much experience in early childhood education or nutrition? We’ve got the perfect position for you. We are in need of volunteers to assist with the administrative support and implementation of these classes. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to:

  • Test recipes or demonstrate curriculum as needed in preparation for classes.
  • Assist on-site during cooking classes to ensure the best possible experience for the children*.
  • Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, mailing and response to inquiries at the direction of the Tot Chef’s Academy Program Director.

*Please note, any volunteer who will come into contact with children in any capacity will need to submit to a background check by Pea Pod and the school district they would be volunteering in. Background checks are paid for by the volunteer.
